    5 Wardrobe Facts About Me

Personal style is always something I find fascinating. I like rummaging through the wardrobes of other people in order to see what they’re into. Of course, I don’t literally rummage – that would be weird. I enjoy glimpses of their style now and then as I see them put outfits together, whether it reflects the modern trends or is something completely eccentric. I’ve always loved clothes, and in my two decades of living, there are some patterns which have become evident in my wardrobe. I’d like to share a bit of myself with you, in a series of beautiful Pinterest images until I can purely create my own images. I…

4 Reasons Why I’d Fail as a Style Blogger

Style bloggers are pretty awesome people, I see them all on my Instagram and I follow quite a handful of their blogs. There’s just something about them, the way they rock clothes effortlessly. I guess this is why brands love working with them, especially. A style blogger doesn’t just post up gorgeous amateur-editorial (sometimes even editorial) type photos and keep it moving. They can be awesome writers, and some are quite relatable when they mix outfit posts with real talk. Either way, It doesn’t look like they’ll go out of style anytime soon. I thought a couple days back of this idea: what if I was in a different niche?…

    Style Edit: Casually Corporate

I recently wrote a post on my feelings of conflict amidst a rising insecurity about my law path. I consider this post to be a kind of continuation of that, because the truth is I have a lot of stuff I’m trying to figure out, like most people out there. Style Blogger Struggles Firstly I’d like to give a shoutout to style bloggers. It’s not easy! To be honest, blogging is not an easy task. It might be easy to do when you’re passionate about it, but it will always be something that takes time and planning, especially if you want to execute well. If you’re not into blogging seriously,…

Shop & Tell: My Best Shopping Steals

Thrifting, or ‘bend-down-select’ AKA okrika, is amazing. I think a lot of bloggers can’t deny this fact. Thrifting alone is an awesome word, and the act is something that gives energy in a way. Come on, who wouldn’t be excited to get a good deal and save a ton of money! I love shopping, yes. However, I’ve always been reluctant to splurge. The most I’ve spent on a piece of normal clothing is $79, and they were the best black jeans ever from General Pants Co, thank-you-very-much. You better stop side eying me! I had a job then, okay? Unfortunately, I left the pants with a friend while moving…

How To: Survive an Assassination Attempt

You’re probably wondering what on earth the correlation is between the title of this post, and the featured photo. Worry not, and stay with me.  “I thought you were my friend! I thought we had resolved to weather the storms of life together, going hand in hand like best friends forever!” I screamed into the emptiness, my heart shattering into pieces minute after minute. I struggled to grasp and understand why this was happening to me. I wondered how I had ended up In this situation. I wondered how all the months and years of dedicated love and friendship had all boiled down to this.   Betrayal.   There was…

    The Style Edit: Inhibitions

Welcome to The Style Edit, my personal style diary. If you haven’t read the first chapter (here), check it out! That is basically the first page of this style diary. I consider myself to have an “aunty” style. Think that one nosy family member who always has something to say but can’t get her life together, with her outdated look. When I’m not outchea’ looking like an aunty, I’m just head to toe in lazily thrown together drab. Anyway, I realize that I’ve been too conservative. Note: I can’t believe I’m posting for the 4th time this week, it’s actually scary! I guess I should just appreciate the writing juices…

    The Style Edit: Genesis

Ever since I mastered the joys of the internet, I have always had a thing for saving photos of stuff. Whether I saw an amazing aesthetically pleasing photo on Tumblr, We Heart It, or Pinterest, my instinct was to save. This has led to folders upon folders, filled with all sorts of inspirational photos. When that wasn’t enough, I took to creating collections of photos I loved on We Heart It (here) and Pinterest (here) via boards.  The thing is, I have so much inspiration. I know what I like, I know what I believe looks good. Yet, why can’t I bring my imagination to real life? Why do I stick…

    MOA x Haute Signatures

Here I am again with another attempt at a photoshoot! P.S. Sorry for the photo quality, I didn’t save the edited photos properly! I’ve always heard the term ‘haute couture’ but never really understood it. A quick Google brings me the definition “expensive, fashionable clothes produced by leading fashion houses.” Basically, haute couture (pronounced ‘hote catore’ according to Urban Dictionary) is high fashion. Think of those crazy looks you might have peeped at those highly hyped fashion shows, models strutting fiercely down the catwalk. Some of these designs are so cool to me, and yet I always wonder, why make something people won’t be able to wear everyday? As for…
