Episode 4 of Shuga’s Season 6 definitely was filled with discoveries, from Tare to Faa, it was either the audience learnt something new about the characters, or the characters discovered new things.
The Birds and the Bees
It was an awkward yet necessary session for Tare and Faa as ‘the talk’ came out in full force. I honestly respect people who can talk and educate others about sex, especially when it’s their own family member. I don’t ever see myself giving my sister ‘the talk’ because I’m a coward. How can someone that finds it off to say vagina possibly survive?
Well, big ups to Faa! Tare took all the information in, though she felt Faa was only telling her this because she felt she was up to naughty things. This, of course, was not the case. We also discovered here that Faa had been sexually abused in the past, and this of course justified her deep concern for her young, beautiful and naive sister.

Leila (Jemima Osunde) and her ex-boyfriend Weki meet up at a cute shopping centre to catch up. They discuss a lot, but then we discover why she was so defensive last week when Tobi asked her to get the condoms instead. As it turns out, whenever she gets to the cash register she’s pestered with questions like ‘mrs or miss?’ and it drives her nuts. I would understand the frustration. A good clap back would be a simple ‘mind your business’.
I don’t know what ended their relationship, but it’s nice they can still be on speaking terms. I felt Leila still has feelings for Weki, and he seems like a nice person – save for how he treated her in the past. I wonder what will develop between them.
Our safe sex angel, Mrs. Yasmin (Rahama Sadau) is back again with her cute husband and cute face. She’s helping Hadiza with the debate work and introduces Hadiza to the internet. We also get some cuteness while Mrs Yasmin babysits Princess‘ baby boy and interacts with her husband. Though they married young, they seem to have it together. The moment is cut by Hadiza who seems to have a milk spill (no matter how many mom blogs I read, I can’t remember the term for this boob betrayal breastfeeding mothers have) and has to rush off to the toilet – yikes.
Princess seems to be having a good time. She lets her hair down and goes to the club – turns out she and Tobi have some history (ooo). I’m a bit confused though because I thought she was meant to be out with Leila‘s brother? She instead spends the time discussing with an older man who seems decent.

So You Think You Can Sing?
We didn’t get to see Diana this week, yet awesome discoveries were made. For one, Khalil has some nice beats, but is still the house boy at the studio. It also turns out that Faa has an awesome voice! Who knew? Now we know! I think they would make a great combination, and this could lead to something great by the end of the season!
Ebisinde has Joined Gang (Again)
While discoveries were mostly good in the episode, bad discoveries were also made.
Since gambling wasn’t enough, Ebisinde and his other friend listened to the advice of their loud mouthed friend, and have resorted to illegal activities in order to make quick money. This doesn’t look good. While Tare has been pushed towards after-school activities to keep her busy and away from prying eyes of predators, oga Ebisinde is running wild.
I hate how whenever Faa seems to be making a step forward, Ebisinde is somewhere acting up! I’m sure his actions in this episode are going to end up affecting Faa (and her career) in some way or the other.
That being said, the episode was good! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
